In 2015, we were required to travel more for work compared with the previous year. We chose to primarily travel domestically (within India) by train, and only chose air travel if it was an emergency. We also consciously limited our international air travel. The New York Times has called air travel "the biggest carbon sin". Due to frequent traveling, emissions from hotel stays grew significantly in 2015. In 2016, we plan to do more research before choosing a hotel to identify low-carbon hotels. The below years are financial years starting on April 1 and ending March 31; 2014 is 2013-2014 and 2015 is 2014-2015.
